More than 120 local leaders and community members gathered recently to mark ten years since the formation of the Alamance Wellness Collaborative. The AWC was launched in 2015 in response to the need to break down silos and build collaboration across the county. Since then, Impact Alamance and Healthy Places by Design have collaborated to support to the collaborative in planning and implementing positive community transformation including policy changes for tobacco-free parks, and improvements to 80 parks and greenways with a focus on inclusive play spaces for families and children with disabilities.
More than 300 change-makers joined us in Atlanta on October 27-30 to learn and explore actionable ways to build and strengthen healthy socially connected communities. Session recordings, a report, and other conference materials will be shared here soon!
